Joey
came to Nashville in 1990 from Eldorado, Illinois, where he had studied
under noted flamenco guitarist Sam Reeves. A lover of all styles of music
and a firm believer in being a "jack of all trades," Joey has studied and
performed various styles, including classical, rock, jazz, Latin and even
country ("When in Rome!"). He also performs in Fatgnat, a jazz-fusion side
project with Serenatta bassist Kevin Hogan, where they switch musical
chairs -- Joey plays bass and Kevin plays guitar. Joey works at United
Methodist Communications, where he is associate editor of Interpreter
Magazine (www.interpretermagazine.org).
An avid golfer (he takes vacation from work to watch the British Open
every year), Joey's non-musical time is spent in the woods at Percy Warner
Golf Course, looking for his lost ball.
